How to adjust a Citizen Skyhawk Eco Drive watch

Setting a Citizen Skyhawk Eco Drive watch is an easy task once you understand the functions of the various buttons on the edge of the case. The Citizen Skyhawk is a multifunctional watch that converts sunlight into electrical energy through the use of solar cells underneath the dial. This powers the hands, chronograph, functions, stopwatch, alarm and other functions. The Skyhawk also has a power save option, which is to conserve energy and keep the watch running in low light conditions.

Notice the function buttons at 2 and 4 o’clock and the knob at 3 o’clock on the edge of the Citizen Skyhawk Eco Drive case. These buttons adjust all of the watch’s functions according to Citizenwatch.com.

Set the digital hometown display function to 9 o’clock by pulling the knob to the first position. Rotate it until the sub-dial hand at 6 o’clock is aligned with TME. Press the 2 o’clock button until the city closest to where you live is displayed. Press the 2 o’clock and 4 o’clock buttons at the same time to find the local city in the digital display window at 3 o’clock. Once you select the city, the time will be automatically adjusted by the automatic radio reception function.

Pull out the knob to the first position to set the time manually. Rotate it until the mode knob is aligned with the CAL, TME and RX-S positions below the umbrella line. Push the knob in until it is flush with the edge of the housing. Point the 9 o’clock side of the clock in the direction of the radio transmitter. For example, if you live in Los Angeles, point the 9 o’clock side of the clock east toward Ft. Collins, Colo. where the transmitter is located.

Press and hold the 4 o’clock button for two seconds until a tone sounds and the second handle stops in the RX-S position. It will move to the H. M or L position on the 2 o’clock subdial. Press and hold the watch in the same position. The second hand will move from the H, M or L position with the hour and minute hands to the correct time once radio reception is complete.

Press the 2 o’clock button to start the chronograph. Press the button a second time to stop it. Press the 4 o’clock button to reset the chronograph.

Pull the knob all the way out and rotate it clockwise until the proper date is selected. Push the knob all the way in when finished.
